UGC NET 2021 Application Form has been re-started from 10th August 2021.The candidates who have registered for UGC-NET of December 2020 cycle but have not been able to complete the application process, can also complete and submit the application form online on the website till 5th September.the National Testing Agency (NTA), with the concurrence of UGC, has merged both UGC-NET of December 2020 and June 2021 cycles so that they be conducted together in CBT mode.The exam will conduct from 6th October to 11th October in both morning and evening shift.

UGC NET is a national level entrance test which will be organized by NTA. Through UGC NET exam, the eligibility will be determined for JRF (Junior Research Fellowship) & Assistant Professor and for Assistant Professor only. Candidates who will successfully qualify the test will be considered for recruitment as Assistant Professor or JRF in Indian Universities and Colleges.

UGC-NET June 2021 Exam Pattern

 Mode of Examination: The Examination shall be conducted as Computer Based Test (CBT) only. 

 Pattern: The Test will consist of two papers. Both the papers will consist of objective type, multiple 
choice questions. There will be no break between papers and total time is 3hours.

The questions in Paper I intends to assess the teaching/ research aptitude of the candidate. It will primarily be designed to test reasoning ability, reading comprehension, divergent thinking and general awareness of the candidate.

PaperII  This is based on the subject selected by the candidate and will assess domain knowledge.

The basic criteria that candidates must fulfill to meet UGC NET eligibility 2021 are:-
  • Candidates should secure at least 55 per cent aggregate marks in post-graduation
  • Candidates should not be more than 31 years (only  for 2021 )in age in order to be eligible for JRF
  • There is no age restriction to apply for the post of Assistant Professoional
  • A relaxation of five per cent in educational qualification is given to reserved category candidates.
  • A relaxation of five years in age criteria is given to reserved category candidate
  • Candidates who have cleared State Eligibility Test (SET) before June 1, 2002 are exempted from taking the UGC NET exam.
Important Points
  •  The eligibility for ‘Assistant Professor’ or for ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ will depend on the performance of the candidate in both the papers of UGC-NET in aggregate.
  •  The candidates qualifying exclusively for Assistant Professor will not be considered for the award of JRF. 
  • Candidates appearing in UGC-NET should thoughtfully select in the Application Form whether they are applying for ‘Assistant Professor’ or ‘Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professor’. 
  • Candidates who qualify the Test for eligibility for Assistant Professor will be governed by the rules and regulations for recruitment of AssistantProfessor of the concerned universities/colleges/State governments, as the case may be.
  •  The candidates who qualify for the award of JRF are eligible to pursue research in the subject of their post-graduation or in a related subject and are also eligible for Assistant Professor. 
  • The universities, institutions, IITs and other national organizations may select the JRF awardees for full time research work in accordance with the procedure prescribed by them.
  • Junior Research Fellowship: Candidates qualifying for the award of JRF will be eligible to receive fellowship of UGC under various schemes, subject to their finding placement in universities/IITs/Institutions. 
  • The validity period of the offer will be three years w.e.f. the date of issue of JRF Award Letter. However, for those candidates who have already joined M. Phil. / Ph.D., the date of commencement of Fellowship shall be from the date of declaration of NET result or date of their joining.
HOW  To Apply Online:- 

1 Apply for Online Registration using unique Email Id and Mobile No.

2 Fill in the Online Application Form and note down the system generated Application No.

3 Upload scanned images of Candidate’s Photograph (file size: 10 kb - 200 kb) and
Candidate’s Signature (file size: 4kb - 30kb) in JPG/JPEG format.

4 Pay fee using SBI/Syndicate/HDFC/ICICI/Paytm Payment Gateway through Debit
Card/Credit Card/Net Banking/UPI and keep proof of fee paid.
In case the Confirmation Page is not generated after payment of fee then the transaction is cancelled, and amount will be
refunded to the candidate’s account. However, the candidate has to make another transaction, in case the Confirmation Page is not generated.
Download, save and print copies of Confirmation Page after successful remittance of fee and keep copies safely for future reference.

More details  ABOUT JRF: Not more than 31 years as on 01.10.2021 (October 1, 2021). (This age limit is applicable for the current examination only).

A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates belonging to OBC-NCL  /SC/ST/PwD/Third gender categories and to women applicants. 

Relaxation will also be provided to the candidates with research experience, limited to the period spent on research in the relevant / related subject of post- graduation degree, subject to a maximum of 5 years, on production of a certificate from  appropriate authority, which should be a recognized Indian university / Institute of National  Importance / foreign university which is duly approved / recognized / accredited in its own Country / Public Sector Undertaking of Government of India / State Government in India. 

The  research should not have been carried out towards completion of graduation or post- graduation degree(s). Three years relaxation in age will be permissible to the candidates with L.L.M. degree. 

A relaxation of upto 5 years is provided to the candidates who have served in the armed forces subject to the length of service in the armed forces upto the first day of the  month in which the concerned UGC-NET is concluded. Total age relaxation on the above ground(s) shall not exceed five years under any circumstances.
