The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting the Jawaharlal Nehru University Entrance Examination (JNUEE – 2021) for admission to various courses offered at Jawaharlal Nehru University for the academic year 2021-22. The Jawaharlal Nehru University(JNU) constituted under the Jawaharlal Nehru University Act 1966, (53 of 1966) came into existence in 1969. The approach of the University has been to evolve policies and programmes which will make JNU a distinct addition to the national resources in higher education.
The university have an area of about 1000 acres and currently 7300 students are residing in 17 hostels and studying under around 550 reputed faculties. JNU is a university which believes in creating new heights in every field of education and in nurturing social awareness in society.

The final selection is based upon the performance of candidates in the CBT and interview. For Selection in Ph.D. through Computer Based Test (CBT) mode, candidates are called for viva voce and final merit list is made with 70% weightage to CBT score and 30% weightage to Viva.
Relaxation for admission to Ph.D programmes
A relaxation of 5% marks from 55% to 50%, or an equivalent relaxation of grade may be allowed for those belonging to SC/ST /OBC (non-creamy layer)/ PWD as per the decision of the UGC from time to time.
All SC/ST /OBC and PWD candidates are required to submit certificate in respect of their claims from the authorized officers as notified by the Government of India for the purpose from time to time
